Canadians Now Able To Sell Android Apps

In great news for developers based in Canada (such as myself) as well as many other countries around the world, Google announced yesterday that it was expanding support for selling paid apps to 29 countries. Whist Inflatable Apps does not have any paid apps in development at the moment, it’s great to see that Canadian developers are now on a level playing field with their US and UK cousins.

TumTum Update Coming Soon

It’s pretty obvious to anyone visiting that the site has suffered some serious neglect in recent months. This is mainly due to Inflatable Apps being a ‘spare-time’ initiative, and my spare time has been taken up by other things of late. However, this is about to change. I’ve decided to focus a lot more on Android development in general and specifically on completing some of the apps that I’ve wanted to release for a while now.

The first of these is TumTum, which is already available on the site in a very early alpha state. Whilst the core functionality (posting text and pictures to Tumblr) is there, it lacks a lot of the ‘polish’ that you’d expect from an app on the market. Things like notifications, proper background services, custom icons and graceful error handling. All of these things (and probably more) will be implemented soon (ish) and hopefully I’ll be able to release TumTum on the Android Market by the end of the year.

That’s all from me for now. If you’re interested in TumTum please subscribe to the RSS feed as this will be the place that I’ll be announcing new releases.
